The Capitol and Legislative Office Building are open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The buildings are closed weekends and all state and federal holidays.
Guided tours are available by reservation between the hours of 9:15am and 1:15pm. Self-guided tours are available from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Public access currently is limited to the first floor of both buildings. Public entrances are located on the west side of the Capitol and Legislative Office Building located at 300 Capitol Avenue. This online game, recently relaunched, was developed by NCSL for middle school students and includes teacher guides and information.
The publication How A Bill Becomes A Law In Connecticut will be provided to all tour participants. Other brochures, such as: State of Connecticut Sites, Seals, Symbols , will be distributed one per class. These are provided free of charge.
