{"id":243,"date":"2021-12-14T15:04:13","date_gmt":"2021-12-14T15:04:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.cga.ct.gov\/bprc\/?p=243"},"modified":"2022-02-16T15:06:26","modified_gmt":"2022-02-16T15:06:26","slug":"dems-hold-onto-west-haven-seat-in-special-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.cga.ct.gov\/bprc\/2021\/12\/14\/dems-hold-onto-west-haven-seat-in-special-election\/","title":{"rendered":"Dems Hold Onto West Haven Seat In Special Election"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Voters in New Haven and West Haven elected Democrat Trene\u00e9 McGee to serve as their new state representative during a Tuesday special election forced by the resignation of Michael DiMassa following federal corruption charges.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DiMassa, a West Haven Democrat,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ctnewsjunkie.com\/2021\/10\/25\/rep-dimassa-resigns-following-federal-wire-fraud-charges\/\">left office in October<\/a>&nbsp;after the FBI charged him with using his municipal job with the city of West Haven to charge the town for more than $630,000 in COVID relief funding for consulting work, which his shell company never completed.
