Anthony Santella (he/him) is Professor of Public Health and the Director of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Fairfield University, bringing over 20 years of experience in public health education, research, and service. With an Master of Public Health from Emory University and a Doctor of Public Health from Tulane University, along with certifications as a Certified in Public Health (CPH) and Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES), he is committed to advancing public health practice. His research focuses on improving the health of vulnerable populations, including those affected by HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STIs, and individuals experiencing homelessness. A published author and speaker, Dr. Santella contributes to major media outlets like The New York Times and Forbes to raise awareness of critical public health issues. In addition to his academic roles, he serves on the Executive Committee of the New Haven-Fairfield Counties HIV Ryan White Planning Council and the CT HIV Planning Consortium and as a Director on the Division Board of Certification of Health Education Specialists for the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing. His work has garnered several accolades, including the Long Island Ryan White HIV Planning Council Distinguished Provider of the Yea, the Hispanic Counseling Center Professional Achievement Award in Public Health, the New York State Health Commissioner’s World AIDS Day Special Recognition Award, and the Delta Omega Public Health National Honor Society.
