Kristina Talbert-Slagle, Ph.D. is an assistant professor of general internal medicine at the Yale School of Medicine, a core faculty member at Yale’s Equity Research and Innovation Center, and director of the Faculty Support Initiative at the Yale Institute for Global Health. She is a global public health scholar and educator, focused on addressing global health and educational disparities through high-quality, interactive teaching and locally-appropriate and responsive scholarship and field programs. With her spouse Jamie, she has three children, two at the University of Connecticut and one in high school in New Haven. She is originally from Kentucky but now considers herself a New Englander, having lived in Connecticut for 22 years. In her free time, she enjoys reading, riding her bicycle, and exploring Connecticut’s beautiful parks and landmarks. She believes that health is a human right and has dedicated her professional life to advocating, teaching, and working toward health equity for all.
