DESCRIPTION:The Connecticut Democracy Center\, in partnership with the University of Connecticut and 100% Democracy\, will host National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday\, September 16\, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Connecticut’s Old State House. \nThe event invites the public to register to vote\, confirm voter status\, and take part in a day of conversation and community. Highlights include: \n\n\nRoundtable Discussion (11:00 a.m.–12:15 p.m.): “Voting\, Voice\, and Visibility-Past and Present” with former Secretary of the State Miles Rapoport of 100% Democracy\, former State Rep. Evelyn Mantilla\, and Mary Janicki\, former Director of the Office of Legislative Research \n\n\nExperience Connecticut’s  Old State House (1:30 p.m.): Barriers\, Breakthroughs & Ballots: The Right to Vote in Connecticut – Explore the evolution of voting rights in Connecticut\, from the 1818 Constitution to 20th-century suffrage and civil rights milestones. \n\n\nOld State House Farmers Market (10 am to 2 pm): Fresh produce and Connecticut-made goods in the Main Street Courtyard from 10 am to 2 pm. \n\n\nAll events are free and open to the public. \nTo RSVP\, CLICK HERE. \nPARKING:\nParking at State House Square Parking Garage\, located at 55 Market Street is $5 with validation from Connecticut’s Old State House. Metered street parking is available. Free on-street parking is available after 6 pm and on weekends. Please follow posted parking instructions. \nOur Doors Are Open:\nOur building is mobility friendly with a ramp on the West side entrance and elevator access to all floors. Our bathrooms are on the ground floor and have changing tables.
