This immersive approach to civics education gives fifth graders a first-hand look at state government, voting, and civic participation through an authentic election for a Kid Governor each November. Once elected, the Kid Governor and their Cabinet have an office in the historic Governor\u2019s Office at Connecticut\u2019s Old State House and serve a one-year term of leadership. The Connecticut\u2019s Kid Governor\u00ae<\/sup> and national Kid Governor\u00ae<\/sup> programs are both in residence at Connecticut\u2019s Old State House. They are presented with funding and partnership support from\u00a0 the Gawlicki Family Foundation.<\/p>\n
