Their meeting forged the French-American alliance that helped turn the tide of the Revolution. Two hundred and forty-six years later \u2014 on that same September date \u2014 <strong>K\u201312 educators<\/strong> are invited to gather on that same site to explore the full, complex story of that first meeting and the complexities of freedom and the American Revolution.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Join Connecticut&#8217;s Old State House and George Washington\u2019s Mount Vernon for a <strong>free<\/strong>, day-long educator workshop featuring:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Dr. Anthony Martin<\/strong> (Central Connecticut State University) who will examine Washington and Rochambeau not only as military leaders fighting for freedom, but as enslavers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Brenda Haenchen<\/strong> (George Washington Teacher Institute 250 Ambassador), who will share an array of classroom-ready resources from Mount Vernon and the George Washington Teacher Institute, including primary sources and lesson plans developed by teachers across the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>Guided outdoor walking tour<\/strong> exploring Hartford\u2019s and Connecticut\u2019s Revolutionary War history.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">A visit to <strong><em>Connecticut&#8217;s Revolution<\/em>, the Museum of Connecticut History&#8217;s new exhibit<\/strong> that examines our state\u2019s role in the founding of the United States and showcases treasures from the Connecticut State Library\u2019s rich collections.<\/p>\n<p>Lunch and materials provided at no cost. <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/WuotVu1HBLoMrn5E9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Register Here<\/a>.
