Autism Day at the Capitol

The Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity & Opportunity (CWCSEO) in collaboration with Disability Rights Connecticut (DRCT) presents: “Autism: Raising Awareness at the Capitol”, Friday, April 29, 2022 from 10 AM – 3 PM. A full-day of information sharing in support of Autism Advocacy, Awareness and Acceptance.
The day will include information sharing from organizations from across the state; personal impacted stories from a multi-cultural panel of individuals with autism, as well as parents of children on the autism spectrum. Speakers also include: State Officials, Legislators and Guest Speakers Dr. Hassan Minhas, Chief of Autism Services, Hospital for Special Care and Keisha Powell, Certified Autism Specialist and Diagnostician.
This will be an outdoor event so a rain date will be announced depending on the weather. This event is free and the public is highly encouraged to attend. Interpreters will be available in: American Sign Language and Spanish. The program portion of the event will begin promptly at 12:00. Parking is available in the visitors section of the Capitol parking lot, at 210 Capitol Avenue, as well as additional parking in the Legislative Office Building parking garage at 300 Capitol Avenue.
