Mental Health First Aid

A two-day workshop: July 24 AND 31

Mental Health First Aid is an interactive course that presents an overview of mental illness and substance use disorders in the United States and introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common treatments. Those who take the course to certify as Mental Health First Aiders learn a 5-step action plan encompassing the skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care.

This training is open to all legislators and all legislative staff. The training will take place in-person over the course of two days on Thursday 07/24 and Thursday 07/31 in the Private Dining Room. Attendance at both training events is required to for certification. By enrolling in this course, you are signing up to attend both days of training.

Enrollment for this series ends on July 3rd. When enrollment closes, participants will be contacted by the facilitator to complete training pre-work. Please sign up now to be included in this important training.
