Heartsaver® CPR /AED and First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course. It teaches adult, child, and infant CPR and AED use, how to relieve choking on an adult, child, and infant and teaches participants critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Participants also learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first aid emergencies.
This course teaches skills with American Heart Association’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.
This is a full-day class that will run from 9:00am – 5:00pm in the LOB and will include breaks. Please make sure your supervisor approves your participation in a training that will take you away from your desk for the full workday.
This class is for recertification participants only.
Please note: Participants will pay an administrative fee of approximately $20 to receive the required certification card from the American Heart Association. Details will be emailed to participants before the training.
