Managing Leave Laws for Connecticut State Employees (CLE Credits Available)

Today, employees have numerous sources of leave: FMLA, ADA, Paid Sick Leave, Military Leave, Jury Duty Leave, Bereavement Leave, etc. This course provides supervisors with a comprehensive overview of the leave laws and policies governing Connecticut state employees. Participants will examine the legal and policy framework that governs employee leave, including federal and state leave requirements, disability-related leave and accommodations, paid and unpaid leave options, and the CGA’s responsibilities for administering leave consistently and in compliance with applicable laws.

Through practical examples and real-world scenarios, participants will learn how to identify employee leave entitlements, coordinate overlapping leave requirements, communicate effectively with employees, maintain appropriate documentation, and make informed decisions that support both operational needs and legal compliance. By the end of the course, participants will have the knowledge and tools to manage leave requests confidently, fairly, and in accordance with work policies and applicable employment laws.

This training will be eligible for CLE credits for CT Attorneys. Supervisors and CGA attorneys are welcome to attend this training.
