There are many things to consider when someone on your team needs to take a leave of absence from work. Figuring out how to guide them may feel like deciphering alphabet soup! FMLA, PFMLA, SBAC Leave, ADA, VLSRP… the list goes on. In this workshop, supervisors will be given a definition and history for each of the leaves options and provide examples and insight on how to help employees and identify what to do next.

By the end of the session, you will:

• • Know when to inform HR if an employee is out for an extended period.
  • Understand when an employee may need FMLA for a family member’s illness.
  • Recognize the importance of timely leave documentation.
  • Gain confidence addressing employee absences that may be an issue in the workplace.
  • Know the importance of making sure everyone is treated fairly under the law and CGA procedures.
