The Learning Partner Program (LPP) is a reciprocal mentoring program that breaks the traditional mentoring model to benefit everyone involved. It creates connections with people and connections with learning concepts. It may also be the most significant and powerful learning adventure you engage in during the interim.
Occurring in the odd numbered years, interested staff members attend a short information session to learn about the requirements of the program. The goal is to have participants who are 100% committed to the program once they understand the full participation level.
Each staff member is paired with one or two others for six months of reciprocal learning. The partners meet a minimum of one hour a month for six months. The partnership concludes before the start of the even-year legislative session.
Staff members who have participated in the past have reported a variety of success from a better understanding of the legislative process to finding a new workplace friend. The benefits of participation in this program extend well beyond its conclusion.
