Hilda Nieves retired from the State of Connecticut, Judicial Branch in 2010 after 33 years of service with Adult Probation and Bail Services. During her career, Hilda served as
Adult Probation Officer and Chief Probation Officer then functioned as CSSD Regional Manager for Adult and Bail Services having had jurisdiction of New Haven, Middletown
Meriden Adult and Bail Services probation staff in field offices and those placed in 3 courthouses until her retirement.
Hilda went on to work 6 years for New Haven’s Children in Placement serving as Guardian Ad Litem to children at risk of foster care placement in Meriden, Middletown
New Britain, Ct. She then worked for Children and Families in Meriden where she served victims of sexual assault, addressing victim needs and housing placement issues.
Hilda has additionally volunteered for the Red Cross, the Town of Newington, elections office, and currently serves as an advisory board member to the Commission on Women, Children,
Seniors, Equity & Opportunity and was appointed Chair of the Latino & Puerto Rican Subcommittee since 2023.
