The Food & Nutrition Policy Analyst is tasked with helping coordinate efforts in the state to reduce food insecurity, reducing or eliminating the number of food deserts, promoting food as medicine, and providing data on access to nutritionally adequate food. Using a non-partisan, data-driven, cross-cultural approach to policy innovation, the Commission partners with local, state, and national organizations to inform public policy with the goal of ensuring food security for all residents of Connecticut.

While the Commission on Women, Children, Seniors, Equity, and Opportunity (CWCSEO) does not have a Food & Nutrition Sub-Commission, its work is informed by advice from a community-focused work group created by Section 155 of Public Act 23-204.
