Enjoy this free lecture which is centered on Mary and Hugh Parsons of Springfield, Massachusetts. Years before the Salem Witch Trials, witchcraft was real to Mary and Hugh. The pair married in 1645 at Springfield’s first Meetinghouse, but a mere six years later, they faced the town’s accusations of witchcraft in the same place. This event is hosted inpartnership with the Wood Museum of Springfield History, Springfield Museum,and Connecticut’s Old State House. 

Connecticut’s OldState House, the venue for the afternoon lecture, is conveniently located in the center of Downtown Hartford. On-street parking is available, and for just $5,you can park at the State House Square Parking Garage, located at 55 MarketStreet, just steps away from the Old State House. Don’t forget to present yourparking ticket to the museum’s Visitor Services desk for validation.

Several otherparking garages and lots are within a short walking distance, including TempleStreet Garage at 29 Temple Street, 777 Main Street Garage, City Place II Garageat 185 Asylum Street, and ProPark Lot at 66-70 Asylum Street.
