ABOUT THE BAND:
The New Pornographers are a Canadian indie rockband, formed in 1997 in Vancouver. Presented as a musical collective andsupergroup of singer-songwriters and musicians from multiple projects, the bandhas released nine studio albums to date. The band have received critical acclaim fortheir use of multiple vocalists and songwriters, as well as for the elementsof powerpop incorporated into their music. Pitchfork has described the band’s sound as “peppy,gleeful, headstrong guitar pop”,while Stereogum hasretrospectively praised the band’s debut album Mass Romantic as”one of the greatest and most immediate power pop albums everrendered”. Gustaf is an American art punk band fromBrooklyn, New York. The group formed in 2018. In 2020, the band released twosongs, “Mine” and “Design”. In 2021, the band releasedtheir debut album, Audio Drag for EgoSlobs, through Royal Mountain Records. Hartford Live is returning for 2024! The free concert series,representing a multi-year partnership between the City of Hartford andGoodWorks Entertainment, will bring a mix of nationally touring and local actsto Connecticut’s Old State House in Downtown Hartford. Hartford Live eventswill take place on six Thursday evenings from 5-9 pm throughout August andSeptember. The shows are all free with no ticket required for entry. Concert-goerscan expect a variety food trucks and the Hartford Live Beer Garden will offersamples and sales of local craft beer, wine, canned and other ready-to-drinkcocktails!
